Christmas Wishlist - The Expensives

Hello my lovely readers, I obviously didn't post yesterday but that was mainly because of a big exam I had to study for and also because I wanted to figure out exactly what I wanted to put in the post. Obviously from the title you can tell it's a Christmas Wishlist, but I was thinking of doing a few versions of this. The first being my expensive items. Now before I get into this I just want to put out this disclaimer: I don't expect to get everything on this, a lot of these items are expensive. I may not even ask my family for all of these for Christmas, these are just ideas floating around in my head that I'd like to share. And maybe you guys could give me some feedback on which of these to ask for? Let's get to it!

1.  13 mm Clipless Curling Iron - Jose Eber - This is the most expensive item on my list hitting $110. It's a curling rod/wand(whichever you prefer) from Jose Eber. I've never had my own curling iron, I've used my sisters before and I love it, but this year I thought I'd ask for my own as I love how my hair looks curly(when it's not in a bun of course). This is definitely making it onto my list.

2. Stroke of Midnight Brush Kit: Essentials - MAC - Not as expensive as the last but in my book still pretty expensive. This brush kit reaches $49.50 from MAC. I've heard good things about this kit and I'm the need of one. I think I may look for a cheaper one to put on my list so if you have any suggestions let me know!

3. Butter London Matte Finish Shine Free Topcoat - Sephora - This is the cheapest on my list only $19(but quite expensive for a topcoat). This is a Matte Finish topcoat which I've really wanted. I love the look of Matte finishes on nails and I think this would be perfect. I'm just hoping it looks as great as the description makes it seem.

4. Stay All Day Vinyl Lip Gloss(Scarlet Vinyl-Brick Red) - Stila - A little expensive for a lipgloss this is $24, but it is supposed to last all day and it's Stila so what do you expect? I've heard good things about this gloss, and I really love the color of it.

5. Naked Basics - Urban Decay - I've never tried a Naked palette and because of that I didn't want to ask for one that was $50. So I decided to go with the basics which is only $27. Everyone raves about the Naked palettes so this one was an obvious. I really want to try it out so I think this will be making my list.

So that is everything on my expensives list. Again, I'd like to say that I'm not planning on getting or even asking for all these things for the holidays. It's just some ideas, although there are a few I'm sure will be making their way onto my list. Hope you guys enjoyed this, let me know if you want some more Christmas Wishlists and what you think I should be asking for from these products!

L'Oreal Ever Creme Masque Review

I've been trying to grow my hair out for a while and I've been trying everything I possibly can. A few weeks ago I bought myself the L'Oreal Ever Cream Deep Nourishing Masque. So many people had been raving about it I thought I would give it a try.

I picked up the hair mask for around $8 at Walmart. I used it that night when I got home, in the shower. I massaged it into my scalp, and I left it in for around five minutes and then washed it out exactly as the directions said to do. I use it twice a week, Tuesdays and Fridays if you wanted to know.

I wasn't expecting instant results, but the next morning my hair did look shinier and felt softer. I've used it about five times since then and the results keep getting better, I'm really excited to keep using it and see how my hair will look. The thing I liked most about the product was just how much there was, and you don't use much when applying the mask. It also smells incredible which is a plus. It didn't seem to make my hair oily or dry. My hair just looked healthier.

I'm glad I ended up picking this product up. It seems like it's been helping and my hair has been growing, so I definitely recommend this to you guys. Have you tried this product out before, if you have let me know what you think!

These Boots Were Made For Walkin'

Boots are probably my favorite type of shoes on the face of the earth. Well, nothing beats a good pair of heels, but boots are an extremely close second. Before fall started, I decided to get two pairs of combat boots. One in black, one in brown so that I could match all my outfits. Now having the expensive taste I have, Steve Madden boots caught my eye when I first started browsing. The first pair that caught my eye were something I found on an online shopping website called Zappos(not sure how popular this website is, especially in other countries). They were the Steve Madden Thundr-C's which reached the price of $100. A little too expensive for my taste, so when I found out they had a dupe at Marshall's who went to go buy them? Me!

Now that I'm thinking of it I really should have taken pictures outside, but it's a little too late now, and too dark out. Anyways, these boots though, were only around $30 which is quite a steal when compared to the actual price of $100.
These are the original Thundr-C boots and obviously the major difference between these and the ones I bought is the white lace. Though I wish they had white lace, I'm still very please with my purchase, I saved myself $70! And I don't think the dupes are too bad looking. They're also great quality and comfortable, but the heel makes them quite loud so if you don't like being noticed they may not be for you.

Now when I yet again went looking for boots I wanted a pair of original black combat boots. And I am aware that you can find these for cheap anywhere, but I wanted something durable, comfortable, fashionable, and well Steve Madden. I went on the search on Zappos again and automatically fell in love with the Madden Girl's Gallyyy. These were in the color Black Paris and $70, which I suppose isn't too bad. Especially since I fell in love with them when they arrived, they were perfect.

This time I couldn't find an exact dupe, so I splurged and just bought them for myself. Why not right? I deserve a good shoe once in a while(and that while might be soon because I'm feeling a new pair of shoes, although Christmas is coming around the corner!) These boots did take a bit of time to break in, but they looked incredible and were comfortable after a little while. Plus the compliments kept on coming which made me pretty happy with the purchase. Which of the two pairs I showed were your favorite? Planning on hunting any down now?

Fall Staple: Bronze Nail Color

The fall has always been a close favorite of mine when it comes to the seasons. Breaking out the boots, scarves, sweaters, and darker colors. Nail color is something I look forward to in the fall as you can paint your nails darker without getting strange looks. Burgundy, maroon, black, purple. But my personal favorite color for the fall this year has got to be bronze.

When I went to Target a few weeks ago I was in the mood for a new nail color. Something for the fall that wasn't as dark as the other colors I already owned. Something to get me into the fall spirit. I was just casually browsing the selection when this little bottle caught my eye. Sally Hansen's Diamond Strength nail polish is something I've bought before(in a very bright pink color) but what really caught my eye was the beautiful color of the polish. The name was Antique Bronze and it was an incredible coppery bronze with almost a sort of pink and gold tone to it. Of course I had to purchase it as soon as I laid eyes on it.

I'm in love with how it looks on my nails, I've painted them quite a few times with this color, the most recent being yesterday. It's such a great shade and it applies so smoothly. This has definitely become a fall staple piece for me. I've gotten lots of compliments on the color as well, I've even had people tell me they were planning on going to buy it! What do you think of this color? Are there any colors you've been loving for the fall?

Baby Lips Helpful Tips

Maybelline is probably my go to, drugstore shoppable, makeup products. Their cheap but not in quality and have such a wide variety that Maybelline has me hooked. Baby Lips, are something they came out with a little while ago and since then they've been adding new types to their line. I have bought my fair share of Baby Lips and they are my main chaptstick and lip moisturizer. But there are some Baby Lips you could substitute for lipstick.

From left to right these Baby Lips are, 05 Quenched, 30 Peach Kiss, 15 Cherry Me, and 95 Strike A Rose. These Baby Lips all work the same way. For me, I do find that they make my lips a lot softer and each of these smells incredible. Some people have said Baby Lips don't work that well for them, but I absolutely love them. Quenched is just a plain clear chapstick. It smells like fruit punch(I'm hoping everyone knows what that is) and has no color when applied. I use it a lot when I just want something to moisturize my lips, especially during the winter when it gets colder.

Peach kiss is more of a nude color but with a sheer peach tone to it. It's a very sheer color but you do notice it when applied, as you can somewhat see in the picture above. This Baby Lips smells like peach(obviously). This is another one I use quite often since you don't notice the color too much.

Cherry Me has a sheer red color, but it's more of a pink red than bright bold red. The color is noticeable unlike the other two I've shown and it obviously smells like cherries. I used this particular color quite a lot when I was in my school's music last year, if enough is applied it stands out pretty well.

Strike A Rose is definitely my favorite color. It's the perfect pink and it definitely isn't sheer. This Baby Lips is in their neons collection which is why the color stands out far more than the rest. To me, this smells like a mixture of Peach Kiss and Cherry Me, but I don't think it has one distinct scent. I wear this a lot when I'm going out to a dinner or party, I actually wore this color to my friend's Quince and I thought it looked great.

So Baby Lips are something I'm quite fond of, I definitely like grabbing a new one anytime I'm somewhere that sells them. I have had some others before, like their mint flavored one but that's a lot like Quenched. Maybe this will inspire some of you to try Baby Lips or use one of the brighter one. I think they work well and I'm definitely happy with them so let me know what you think of Baby Lips.

Mascara Obsession and Reviews

I feel like everyone has their specific makeup product they can't leave home without. Eyeliner, lipstick, foundation. For me it's always been mascara, I could go completely naked on the face and just throw on mascara and still feel complete. I feel like most people notice your eyes first and mascara is something that compliments them so well. I have very long lashes which are a lot more defined when I apply mascara.

I'm one for trying lots of new mascaras, anytime I go to a store that sells makeup I pick up a new one. Over the past few months I've bought four new mascaras that I've actually kept in my makeup bag, each for a different reason. I also realize that some of these look kind of dirty but I had a little makeup spill in my old makeup bag so that's why some of them have powder and stuff all over them.

The first mascara I want to talk about its Covergirl's Lash Perfection(in very black).

I've never tried Covergirl mascaras before, I'm big on Maybelline which you'll soon find out, but this was something my mom picked up for me so I figured I wouldn't waste it. The look of it on wasn't too bad, it did clump a bit but nothing too major like other mascaras have. It lasted throughout the day and I didn't have a problem. It was only until I tried taking it off that I hit a problem. I never buy waterproof mascara, I hate having the struggle of taking it off, and this wasn't waterproof. But no matter how much makeup remover I used it wouldn't come off. It took me forever to get off this mascara. Some people may like that, but if you're like me and like to take off makeup quick and easy then you'll know this was a problem. I haven't really used this since the first time I tried it, but I kept it in my makeup bag to talk about.

The next two mascaras are both by Maybelline. One is the Rocket Volume(in blackest black), the other is The Falsies Volume Express(in blackest black).

I've always loved Maybelline mascara, it's what I started with. The Rocket was something I used when I first really got into makeup and it's one of my favorites even today. It's an amazing formula, very smooth putting on, it doesn't clump and your eyelashes separate easily. It does give lots of volume and length which is the reason I loved it so much. As for The Falsies, my sister recommended this to me because it's been her go to mascara for as long as she can remember. I decided to give it a try and didn't find myself liking it too much. As much as it did give volume and length, my lashes didn't separate and there were lots of clumps. I found myself spending ten minutes in the morning just trying to get my eyelashes to separate.

L'Oreal's Lash Out Butterfly(in blackest black) is my most recent mascara purchase.

It is more on the expensive side of mascaras but it was so worth it. I'd heard lots of people raving about this particular mascara, so I figured I'd try it out myself. I wasn't sure what to expect though, as most just said it was "great" or "a good mascara". The first thing I noticed was that is separated my eyelashes very well, which is the most important thing for me when it comes to a mascara. It didn't take too long to make my lashes look near perfect. You could use this to make your lashes longer but I found that this was good for wanted to make your lashes look more natural. It definitely extended their length but not to an extent that wasn't flattering. I really liked using this mascara and it could be my new go to mascara. I say that now but next time I get makeup I'll probably find something new!

I hope this helped some of you with finding a new mascara to use or not to use. I know I can't be the only one in love with mascara, good looking eyelashes have to be something everyone wants! Let me know what you think and what you might consider buying!

My Blonde Bun: The Reasoning Behind This All

I've always envied the beauty gurus of YouTube for being confident enough to sit in front of a camera and speak their mind; talk about beauty, makeup, hair, etc. I always dreamed of being able to do that myself, but until I gather up that courage to actually sit down and talk to a camera, I figured blogging about these things would be the next best thing.

And thus, this blog has been created and hopefully someone will listen to what I have to say. I plan on talking about the basic things, makeup, beauty, fashion, hair, all of that fun stuff. That's something I really love, I also love writing so I thought that this is a good creative outlet. Am I right?

My blonde bun, oh the blonde bun. It's something I'm known for where I live and in my school. If you see a blonde sockbun wandering the hallway you'll know it's me. I don't look like me without it, I guess that's how I came up with the name. I like the bun, so why not be known for that on the blogosphere as well.

Hopefully someone will care to read what I write, I don't want this to be a waste of time. But it won't be, I actually enjoy this. It's supposed to be fun so that's what it will be.
